Transform Together made a big splash at the UN High Level Political Forum for the Sustainable Development Goals in New York. On Monday 9 July Transform Together members presented seven solutions for sustainable smartphones and ICT in quickfire presentations. Presentations from Reinhardt Smit of Closing the Loop (top left), Pranshu Singhal of Karo Sabhavand (top right), Cuno van Geet of the Dutch Government (bottom left) and Bandi Mbubi of Congo Calling (bottom right). A number of the group then spent more time talking with national governments, including those who attended the event; the Swiss, German and Austrian Governments. We are now following up on the interest shown to secure the support and engagement of more governments. In the café at the UN we drew on the Brussels workshop outcomes and the UN event to write a draft 2030 vision for our group.
Many thanks to those who presented and made the event and our time in New York lobbying the Governments so successful. It was a fantastic team effort by all of the following contributors:
We were also pleased that the Head of UN One Planet Network (10YFP) Charlie Arden-Clarke was able to attend and meet the group.
